I just bought some solar lights, like this http://www.solar-lighting.net/images/colonial-solar-path-lights.jpg and i’m just wondering if most people just leave them out year round or if I should bring them inside during the winter months when it snows.

You’d prolong their life by bringing them in, but they are made to stay out. Plus, it’ll be pretty to see the lights on the snow.

How does a household Electrical Power saver gadget works?

There are 3 ways:
Those “gadgets” which you can typically buy for less than $100 actually don’t save power in itself, but make you aware of how much power you use, by constantly displaying the momentary watt, and hopefully making you change your wasting habits.

Which type of portable charger is best, solar or crank?

I am going camping soon and am looking for a good portable charger to take with me, whether solar or crank, and am trying to decide which would be best to purchase to charge an iPhone 4 and an mp3 player and maybe a Nintendo DS.

I don’t actually know about either one, but as an engineer I’d suspect that either one needs some kind of output regulator. Especially a crank one, or you’d overload the battery you’re charging. So I guess it’s a matter of cost, whether you want to do the work, yourself, for a couple hours, or let it do the work for you. And solar doesn’t work so well when there isn’t a Sol to provide solar energy into the solar cells.
