Most anything you want to do will require a lot of work and electrical/wiring knowledge. If the instrument clusters you are speaking of are roughly the same shape, and will fit into your dash and look factory, you will need wiring diagrams of both your vehicle and the donor vehicle, and will have to custom wire the cluster. Be warned that this is not for the average car guy as much damage can result from inproper installation.
I have seen a 95 Z28 cluster installed in 94-96 Impala SS, and this requires the same procedure as above. Good luck!

I don’t think you can do it without using a battery. The battery is about the only way to use the varying DC voltage received from the panels via the charge controller. The battery can then produce a more constant 12-14 volts DC to the inverter. You didn’t say what power the panel produces. I have a small panel that produces good voltage like yours, but no where near the watts power needed to run a small pump. Even most purchased panels that cost $400-$500 may not produce 100 watts power even at peak times.

Sounds like a very expensive way to run a fountain, but it may work.

Power4Home – anyone try doing this make your own electricity?

I am thinking of buying it – a kit – but what is in it? I should look into it more before. They say guaranteed $ back within 60 days. Anyone out there try this? Ad says you can make electricity for less than $200 and store energy in batteries they help you find for free. Sounds good.

Power4Home (or any of those “kits”) is NOT a viable option for saving money. At best, they’re a grade 9 science experiment, at worst they’re a scam.

Technically, you can “make energy for less than $200 and store it in batteries”. What you can’t do is make enough energy to power anything more than a small DC circuit. Want to power anything in your home? You’ll need a DC to AC inverter (a few thousand bucks). Also, if you’re going to hook it up to anything in your home you’ll need a proper electrician to install it to avoid frying the power-line workers if the power ever goes out.

Effective alternative energy is high tech stuff. If you really are serious about it, please call your local professional installer and be prepared to pay the real monetary cost.
