How to access method in frame from panel in java?
I have a Java/Swing program that has a panel in it with a pulldown component. Based on the value selected in the pulldown, the number selected would change the number of panels visible in the frame. What is the best way to communicate with the frame to remove/add the panels from a method? Or if there is a better way of doing that, that would work as well. Thank you in advance!
When the panel is created, set its owner as “this” in the constructor in the frame class, i.e.
JPanel panel = new JPanel(this);
Then use the reference to “this” (the frame) in the panel class to call a method in the frame class that does what you want.
