does anyone know about some college classes that will teach you about building solar panels or hybrid cars?
like working on hybrids or or college classes about building energy efficient houses and to work on wind turbines
An electrical engineering degree would get you about 95% of the way there for solar. Some of the details would require independent research on your part, though there MAY be some specialized classes. To be honest, solar cells really aren’t THAT complex once they’re made. To over-simplify, it’s basically a very very fragile battery requiring tedious work to assemble into special weatherproof panels. Or you buy the pre-made panels at considerable expense.
Wind turbines would be electrical, aeronautical and mechanical engineers.
As far as Hybrid cars, that’s a project for multiple engineers of many disciplines. Mechanical engineers would be the prevalent occupation here as most of the car is…mechanical.
Houses would be civil engineering for the structural stuff, environmental and electrical for things like solar, geothermal, etc.
I see a lot of these questions, but really when it comes to a lot of the things that people want to work on, it’s almost always a multidisciplinary team.
