Which sailboat type can make use of wind from any direction?
I want to commute to work by boat. I live on the very windy Otago Harbour in southern New Zealand, and it would all be perfect, if I knew a type of sailboat which can go straight into the wind, with the wind, and with wind from all other directions.
Is there such a boat?
I need one like that I think, because especially on the way home, the wind would often come blowing straight at me from ahead.
I’d be thrilled to hear your suggestions, as I haven’t found anything yet.

My husband purchased a Starfish 13.9 foot sailboat recently, seems to do great in any wind speed. Of course in high winds he wouldn’t go out. He also bought a extendable paddle incase he gets stuck in no wind.
